Shirley passed away at 6:30 this morning. Missy said it was very peaceful. We're all so relieved. I had made arrangements for hospice care last night so they were going to move Shirley home today. I don't think she wanted to come home.
We're all doing fine and now turning out attention to all the administrative things that will need to be done.
Once we get a handle on stuff, the plan will be to sell the house and move Dad in with Sister-Kathhy. Missy will stay with Dad until we get the ball rolling and sell the house. Then Missy said she'd come back to the Bay Area and stay with a friend for a while.
For the foreseeable future, all our lives are going to be influx.
Dad is doing well, but is worried about all the details and with his stroke is constantly repeating things. I can already tell that mine and Kathy's patience is wearing a little thin. Missy just rolls with it. We just need to remember that he needs to go through these motions so he feels a part of things. It would also help if he'd wear his damn hearing aids! He's very stubborn. He also can't sit still. Hmmm, I wonder where I get some of my traits? ;)
Okay, on to business. We've got a 3:00 appointment at the funeral home. Unfortunately, we keep having trouble remembering the name. It's either Fitzgerald, Fitzhenry or Fitzsimmons. There are only two funeral homes in Minden, so how can we go wrong?
Later!
