Wheels of Progress...

They're definitely spinning here at the park. We had a tour of what will be the Doyle Drive Tunnel yesterday. Check it out:

This is what will be the roadway. Spanning it is the form for all the concrete pouring. It moves along in increments. Pretty cool.

Takes a lot of rebar to make a tunnel!

This is the non-historic Pet Cemetery. It could have been demolished, but public outcry wasn't gonna let that happen so CalTrans spent thousands of dollars to build around it.

Here is where they're putting in all the electrical. This will also power the Golden Gate Bridge:

Here's Construction-Worker-Poser-Poppy:

And of course, FMM-Laurie in her pink hardhat:

The project is massive and a mind-boggling amount of coordination is involved. Very impressive. I think the coolest thing is that those of us on the tour have all in some way had something to do with this project.

Soon to be Pain-Free-Poppy bought this book:

I started to read it and then went online and notice that Esther gives a free introductory online class. It was last night. So, you logon to the class and then get the audio through the phone. Right off the bat, Esther asks if anyone has issues. Poppy chimed right in and told Esther what her problem is. Esther suggested this belt thing. We keep listening, and know that everyone on the call can hear what's going on. Jax decides she wants to play ball and I can't seem to stop her. She's throwing it up in the air and chasing it around. Sounded like a horse in the living room. Argh!

After that it was time to get started on the dinnah! I found a recipe in my Tapas cookbook for pork ribs in garlic sauce. The ribs are supposed to be cut into small pieces. I got the cleaver out and started whacking away, but I couldn't get through the bone so had to cook them whole. They didn't brown very well, but tasted very NOM!

I will be going shopping soon for a giant cleaver that will do the job.

Happy Friday!
