This is what's left of dinner last night. After spending the afternoon getting our Kaiser Buddy Physicals, we went out to celebrate our good health. Okay, Poppy is healthier than I am but the doctor only said "this is your wake up call" once or twice to Fatass. But I will have you know that Fatass' good cholesteral is off the charts excellent, she doesn't have cirrosis of the liver...yet, and only needs to "think about losing a few pounds."
For dinner we went to my favorite Vietnamese restaurant, Mai's on Clement. We had a type Shabu Shabu, but it had a different name that I can't spell or pronounce. Poppy asked Mai (I'm not sure that's her name) how to pronounce the meal we were having; she did; we didn't try to repeat because we'd butcher it. Anyway, it was raw beef with onions that you cook yourself in a vinegar broth. The beef gets wrapped in rice paper with lettuce, sprouts, shredded carrots, mint and cucumber. Then dipped in a sweet-n-spicy sauce. NOM-NOM-NOMMY!!!
